Audiometric Testing

Audiometric Testing – Professional Drug and Alcohol Testing in Alberta

Hearing loss is common on work sites where impact noise and excessive noise exposure exists. Hearing loss due to excessive noise exposure can be hard to detect, as the loss is gradual and is usually not recognized by the worker until their ability to communicate with others is affected. Early detection of hearing loss can be accomplished through annual testing of your workforce.

An audiometric evaluation is a painless, noninvasive hearing test that measures a person’s ability to hear different sounds, pitches, or frequencies. A pure tone audiometric test measures the softest, or least audible, sound that a person can hear. During the test, you will wear earphones and hear a range of sounds directed to one ear at a time.

Legislation states that workers that are constantly in work areas over 85 decibels need to be tested yearly and results monitored. Commodore Solutions can provided onsite and clinical audiometric testing that meets and exceeds industry requirements.
